Fujifilm will release the new FUJINON XF80mm f/2.8 LM OIS WR Macro lens in November 2017.

From Fujifilm XF80mm press release:
The introduction of this lens will add to the X Series line-up of interchangeable lenses which are renowned of their outstanding image quality. This lens features a focal length equivalent to 122mm (on a 35mm format), a maximum aperture of f/2.8, and 1.0x magnification factor, a first in the X Series interchangeable lens range. By achieving high resolving power at the focus point and beautiful bokeh, this lens is optimal for shooting flowers and nature photos. Combine this lens with Fujifilm’s unique Film Simulation such as Velvia, for truly stunning close up images. With an optical construction of 16 elements in 12 groups, including one aspherical lens, one Super ED lens, and three ED lenses, along with a Floating Focus System, this lens is capable of achieving high-quality macro shooting from close-up too far away. This lens supports hand-held shooting thanks to Optical Image Stabilizer system suppressing shift shake. The lens also provides a fast and silent Auto Focus system by adopting linear motors. The exterior design is luxurious yet robust, so you can get premium feel. The aperture and focusing rings have been designed to be comfortable and easy to use. The lens is also weather and dust resistant and can operate in temperatures as low as -10°C, so it is suitable for use in a wide range of outdoor shooting conditions. A fluorine coating has also been applied to the front lens element to repel water and dirt, further improving the toughness of the lens.

X RAW STUDIO

Fujifilm is developing a new RAW conversion system called FUJIFILM X RAW STUDIO.

From Fujifilm X RAW STUDIO press release:
FUJIFILM X RAW STUDIO enables users to quickly and easily convert RAW files with outstanding image quality, once a camera is connected to a Mac or PC via USB cable. Exceptional image quality is retained, as the X RAW STUDIO system utilizes the X Processor Pro in the camera instead of the CPU in the computer. Due to the increasing size of RAW files, users have found batch conversion to be an issue, as it takes more and more time as a result. However, using the high performance “X Processor Pro” processor, this batch conversion is handled far more efficiently as a result. This new software is due to be available from late November 2017.

Main features of X RAW STUDIO:

  • convert RAW images on the computer (Single / Batch Process)
  • preview converting images
  • save, load, or copy conversion profiles

X RAW STUDIO will be compatible with GFX 50S, X-T2, X-Pro2, and X100F running their latest firmware version, which will be available in late November (GFX 50S, X-T2) and late December (X-Pro2, X100F) 2017.
